The aim of the project is to enhance emergency response capacities in the Galati-Cahul cross-border area.
Project objectives:
- Acknowledge the population in rural areas on the risks related to floods and other disasters and provide them with basic training to effectively cope with the consequences of these disasters
- Enhance the institutional capacity of local public authorities to handle emergency situations through capacity building activities and best practices exchange at cross – border level
- Improve the cooperation among public authorities and specialised institutions for a better joint emergency situations management at a cross-border level.
Project activities:
- • Study visit for the exchange of good practices and the creation of the IMPACT network
- • Training seminar aimed at improving emergency management
- Acquisition of specific facilities to increase regional capacity to cope with the consequences of natural and man-made disasters
- Creating information and training materials
- Awareness and training campaign to increase the preparedness and response capacity of the population to emergencies
- First aid training campaign
- Emergency simulation exercises
Project results:
- 30 people who benefit from the exchange of good practices aimed at improving the management of emergencies
- 12 institutions equipped with specific equipment for emergency situations (For EHR – 12 electric generators, 2 motor pumps, lifeboat with motor, snowmob with lifeboat, 250 individual first aid kits, 20 lifeguard uniforms, drone monitoring areas affected, tent for emergencies)
- 100 people trained in emergency simulation exercises
- 200 people trained to prevent and / or reduce vulnerability and the consequences of potential disasters on the population
- 200 people trained for first aid
- 12 institutions equipped with specific equipment for emergency situations (For EHR – 12 electric generators, 2 motor pumps, lifeboat with motor, snowmob with lifeboat, 250 individual first aid kits, 20 lifeguard uniforms, drone monitoring areas affected, tent for emergencies)
